Virtual Reach Partners with Research in Motion: Becomes Member of BlackBerry ISV Alliance
Toronto, ON – 11 August 2005 – Virtual Reach Inc. ("Virtual Reach") announced today that it has been made a member of the BlackBerry ISV Alliance Program offered by Research In Motion Limited ("RIM").
The ISV Alliance is made up of Independent Software Vendors developing applications for the leading wireless email solution and award winning BlackBerry. "Becoming an ISV Alliance Partner is a great step for Virtual Reach," commented Brian Goldberg, President. "Given our applications for BlackBerry devices, such as our recently launched Newsclip, partnering with RIM in the ISV Alliance was a natural and strategic fit for us," he added.
The ISV Alliance will bring to Virtual Reach considerable benefit and significant access to RIM’s resources. Among the many benefits are:
- Access to BlackBerry Technical Knowledge Center;
- Free hardware and discounted software;
- Ability to have corporate profile and logo listed in Partner Zone on BlackBerry.com website;
- Comprehensive marketing support and promotion;
- Lead capture and allocation related to services provided;
- Access to BlackBerry Developer Zone;
- Sales support and training.
The ISV Alliance program was developed to provide support for software development companies like Virtual Reach. Specifically, it was established to add value to the BlackBerry wireless solution and assist ISVs in the design of third party applications and professional services to the BlackBerry user community.
Partnership in the ISV Alliance will be an important factor in the continued development of Virtual Reach products. "Our technology is constantly evolving and improving," said Jay Steele, Chief Technology Officer. "Partnering with RIM in their ISV Alliance will give us access to expansive resources and technology that will help propel Newsclip to the next level," he added.
The partnership with RIMs ISV Alliance is to be renewed annually. Virtual Reach will leverage the program to advance its mobile RSS readers and aggregators. A second version of Newsclip is scheduled for release in the early fall. "Looking at the competitive landscape, we believe we have the premier application for delivering syndicated content to the BlackBerry device," said Goldberg. This partnership will accelerate our product development and provide us with a greater competitive edge in the market," he added.
