Virtual Reach Supplies BAT With Enterprise Class Mobile Solution

Toronto, ON – 8 June 2007 – Virtual Reach Inc., developer of the breakthrough Viigo mobile platform, announced today that British American Tobacco p.l.c. (“BAT”) has initiated an internal pilot of Virtual Reach’s new Viigo Enterprise corporate platform.

The Viigo Enterprise platform provides front-line workers with access to everything from breaking news and alerts, to the full suite of an enterprise’s intranet resources, in the palms of their hands.

“With a presence in over 180 countries worldwide, and more than fifty-five thousand employees, BAT set out to leverage wireless devices to make its internal corporate communications and backend systems available to employees wherever they were, and whenever they needed them“ commented Laurence Dale, Solutions Architect for BAT.  “The retail solution from Virtual Reach offered such an efficient and compelling user experience, that we decided to be one of the first adopters of their enterprise class solution,” he added.

Viigo is designed to enhance corporate productivity by connecting distributed workers, and empowering them with access to critical information and useful services, wherever they are, whenever they need them. Using a highly robust and scalable server infrastructure, the Viigo Enterprise solution is designed not only for the efficient delivery of internal and external content, it facilitates advanced capabilities such as field input and group collaboration.

The product supports a powerful administrative facility that is able to leverage the policy management capabilities of the Blackberry Enterprise Server. Using Viigo, BAT can manage which feeds are available to which user groups, and can leverage layered permissions to easily control access to both functionality and content. The platform provides enhanced security at both the individual feed level and for all access to corporate data, and leverages the organization’s existing login authentication infrastructure to do so.

“In identifying beta customers for this strategic product, Virtual Reach was seeking organizations that were at the forefront of leveraging wireless infrastructure,” said Jay Steele, CTO and Founder.  “BAT has a well planned, comprehensive and visionary plan for leveraging the power of mobile applications across their widespread organization” he added.

BAT, which launched their pilot last week, is one of a select set of customers with whom Virtual Reach will be beta testing the new software in the coming months.
