Viigo and Goal.com Team Up to Bring Soccer to Smartphones

Fan engagement drives strategic partnership between Goal.com and Viigo

Viigo Inc. (www.viigo.com), developer of the popular mobile content and services platform for smartphones, and online soccer premium content provider Goal.com, announced today that they have entered in to a partnership that will allow soccer fans access to Goal.com’s real time soccer news and information directly from the Viigo application on their smartphones.

The service, available today at no cost, is being launched as the quarter-final round of the Champions League tournament enters its second leg. Viigo’s soccer service further provides access to team standings, scores and much more.

“The ever-increasing popularity of soccer in the US, and the ubiquity of wireless devices, has led to a fundamental shift in the way fans enjoy the game,” says Goal.com CEO Gianluigi Longinotti-Buitoni. “Fans want access to their favorite teams and players on their own terms – regardless of whether it’s on their computers, or on their mobile devices. Goal.com’s partnership with Viigo is an exciting answer to the demands of the fans.”

The Goal.com version of Viigo, which includes the premium Goal.com content located in the Sports service, is available for free at http://getviigo.com/goal. Goal.com feeds are also available globally to Viigo users by adding the channel to their Sport service.

“Soccer is considered the most popular sport in the world, and it certainly has a passionate following. Viigo is setting out to give soccer fans across the globe access to the information they crave, instantly, wherever they are.” said Mark Ruddock, CEO, Viigo. “From live scores, soccer news, commentary and analysis to stats on your favorite clubs & players, Goal.com’s content will help make Viigo the premium destination for soccer content on mobile devices.”
