AXIS Selects Viigo for Launch of BlackBerry Smartphones
AXIS to feature Viigo in its WAP portal and subsequently as a Virtual Preload on their BlackBerry smartphones
Viigo Inc. (www.viigo.com), developer of the popular mobile content and services platform for smartphones, announced today that AXIS (a trademark of PT Natrindo Telepon Seluler), the rapidly growing national GSM and 3G cellular service provider in Indonesia, will feature a co-branded version of the award winning Viigo for BlackBerry application through its Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) portal as it launches the sale of BlackBerry devices. AXIS will also shortly add a co-branded version of Viigo for BlackBerry as a virtual preload (VPL) across its entire line of BlackBerry devices.
As a co-branded version, AXIS will offer customized content including local news feeds, blogs, weather and more.
By offering Viigo for BlackBerry, AXIS is giving its customers access to an application that provides customizable news feeds, weather reports, sports information, financial intelligence, the facility to make purchases, participate in social networks, read books, track their flights and more the moment they turn on the device.

The term “virtual preload” is used by RIM to describe the process of automatically provisioning an application icon on a device. In that way, the application can be made available to a user with a single click.
